Duncan the Bandit

A week or so ago, my internet immersion level hit a new milestone when I finally met a friend who I had previously only known via the internet, dA to be precise when flew all the way from Norway for a holiday here in New Zealand.

Well it would be downright rude of me to let him leave empty-handed and I had a long overdue request of one of his very interesting bandit characters. This is Duncan Blackerwood, based off the black bear, he's the brawn in the operation, towering over the others and wielding heavy maces as his weapon of choice. He's got quite a temper on him too so I thought I'd exploit that in this picture. I'm pretty pleased with the anatomy and perspective here. Feet might have been done a bit better but otherwise I think all the muscle forms are in the right place. I have to say I enjoy drawing bulky characters (which might explain Antak and Murk's increasing size). Muscles are good fun to draw when you can accentuate them a bit.

I really like the idea of the morning star mace although I'm a little annoyed at messing up the perspective on the outward-pointing spikes. Overall, I'm pleased with this. Having someone over drawing with me really gives me the kick start I need to get going on a picture like this and I'm actually glad *SteinWill asked me to finish with pencil rather than take the easier way out and use pen.
