Description

The hulking beast struggled to get to it's feet but Antak was already upon him. With a snarl of pure hatred he brought the bladed end of the brute's weapon crashing down against the back of it's neck.
The massive creature contracted in pain and let out a dying howl of agony. The blade had failed to cut all the way through through the twisted matte of steel-like muscle fibres surrounding the animal's throat.

Antak straightened himself up and stared down at the wretched being that had dared to usurp his position, eyes livid and full of contempt, relishing it's pain.

The brute was incapacitated, the blade had dealt a mortal wound, of that Antak was sure. He had half a mind to leave him here to die slowly, but it was his nature to finish what he'd started.

Lifting an armoured hoof he placed it against the chamber of the weapon. He gave a twisted smile. With one swift kick, the blade slashed through and struck against the floor below.

Antak spat.
"Your blood is upon you"

There are certain ways of saying "Owned your %$@! face, bitch!" in any language in the galaxy. This is one of them. =P

A rather angry drawing that began as a sketch in last-period physics after a particularly trying day at school. I do well enough in physics that I can more or less do what I want without the teacher caring, he knows I deliver come exam time, so he's happy. Tis a good arrangement.

Anyway, I decided to try a shading technique used by =Venator-Somniorum that involved lots of cross-hatching. The plan was to be scanner-proof, since when I shade a smooth gradient, mine tends to miss the forest for all the trees, so to speak, with all the lines.

I very much like how it came out, especially the hair on the brute. The scanner hasn't wrecked it as much as it usually does, but the hard copy is still a lot better.
~BlastIt said he liked it but reckoned it might be better to mix it in with what I normally do instead of going pure crosshatch and I think I agree with him. I did notice it does a decent job of creating interesting lighting. I'm not sure I've fully harnessed that in this picture, but with practice... :plotting:
